| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Original Donut Shop has been featured in "The |

| 9 | 9 | | Best Breakfast Tacos in San Antonio" list by Bon Appétit; and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Located on Fredericksburg Road, the restaurant was |

| 11 | 11 | | founded by Patrick Morris in 1954 under the name Hot Donuts, and it |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | quickly gained popularity; during the early 1980s, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | establishment built a kitchen, began serving breakfast tacos and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Mexican food, and adopted its current name; it later added |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | drive-thru lanes to keep up with demand; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Today, the family-owned restaurant is a staple of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the local dining scene, and it has earned the loyalty of residents |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and visitors alike with its welcoming atmosphere and distinctive |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | menu featuring breakfast tacos and donuts; in addition, the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | establishment was highlighted in a Netflix series called Taco |

| 21 | 21 | | Chronicles; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated restaurants add to the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | prosperity and culinary diversity of the Lone Star State, and all |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | those associated with the Original Donut Shop may take great pride |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | in the high regard it has enjoyed in the San Antonio community for |

| 26 | 26 | | more than seven decades; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Original Donut Shop on being |
