| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Panther Pride is hosting its 10th annual Special |

| 9 | 9 | | Needs Community Awareness Day event on April 12, 2025; and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 2007, Panther Pride is the official |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Special Needs Athletic Program for Plano East Senior High School |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and other campuses in the Plano Independent School District; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | originally known as the Special Olympic team for Plano East, the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | organization was established to promote inclusivity and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | opportunity in athletics; each year, Panther Pride provides a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | platform for special-needs students in the district to showcase |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | their talents and join other students, faculty, parents, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | community members for friendly competition and camaraderie; since |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 2014, Coach Anthony Ruttenburg has served at the helm of the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | program; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, This year's Special Needs Community Awareness Day is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | taking place at the Plano East Gymnasium and includes live |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | entertainment, concessions, bounce houses, and a variety of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | vendors; the event also features a Panther Pride basketball game, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | with the team squaring off against the Plano Police Department; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Panther Pride has made a lasting and positive |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | difference in the lives of numerous young Texans, and it is indeed a |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | pleasure to honor the organization on this special occasion; now, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 10th annual Special Needs |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Community Awareness Day hosted by Panther Pride and extend to all |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | those in attendance sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | memorable event; and, be it further |

| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
