| 9 | 9 | | State are gathering in Austin on April 15, 2025, to advocate for |

| 10 | 10 | | women and their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the State |

| 11 | 11 | | Capitol; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day brings together members of |

| 13 | 13 | | Texas Democratic Women and other concerned women and leaders from |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | around the state to draw attention to issues of importance to Texas |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | women, including public education, health care, and economic |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | security; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Federation of |

| 18 | 18 | | Democratic Women, Texas Democratic Women was founded in 1987 to |

| 19 | 19 | | increase civic engagement among women of all backgrounds who hold |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | progressive values; TDW provides statewide training conferences |

| 21 | 21 | | and workshops and serves as a communication network for other |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Democratic women's organizations; today, it has more than 20 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | chapters engaged in grassroots organizing; during every |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | legislative session, the group sponsors a day of action for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | discussions with lawmakers about the need to ensure equal rights |

| 26 | 26 | | and opportunities for women; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Women contribute immeasurably to the dynamism and |

| 28 | 28 | | prosperity of the Lone Star State, and Blue Ribbon Lobby Day serves |

| 29 | 29 | | as an occasion to call attention to their concerns for their |

| 30 | 30 | | families and their communities; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby recognize April 15, 2025, as Blue Ribbon Lobby |
