77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Public-spirited citizens from across the Lone Star
99 State are gathering in Austin on April 15, 2025, to advocate for
1010 women and their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the State
1111 Capitol; and
1212 WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day brings together members of
1313 Texas Democratic Women and other concerned women and leaders from
1414 around the state to draw attention to issues of importance to Texas
1515 women, including public education, health care, and economic
1616 security; and
1717 WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Federation of
1818 Democratic Women, Texas Democratic Women was founded in 1987 to
1919 increase civic engagement among women of all backgrounds who hold
2020 progressive values; TDW provides statewide training conferences
2121 and workshops and serves as a communication network for other
2222 Democratic women's organizations; today, it has more than 20
2323 chapters engaged in grassroots organizing; during every
2424 legislative session, the group sponsors a day of action for
2525 discussions with lawmakers about the need to ensure equal rights
2626 and opportunities for women; and
2727 WHEREAS, Women contribute immeasurably to the dynamism and
2828 prosperity of the Lone Star State, and Blue Ribbon Lobby Day serves
2929 as an occasion to call attention to their concerns for their
3030 families and their communities; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3232 Legislature hereby recognize April 15, 2025, as Blue Ribbon Lobby
3333 Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the advocates
3434 who are visiting here today.
