7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |

8 | 9 | | those saddened by the death of Inda Sorrels Williams of Marble Falls |

9 | 10 | | on January 4, 2025, at the age of 66; and |
---|
10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Joe and Jeanine Sorrels, the former |
---|
11 | 12 | | Inda Sorrels was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on August 16, |
---|
12 | 13 | | 1958, and she grew up with the companionship of her three siblings, |
---|
13 | 14 | | Stacy, Joe, and Bob; she graduated from Richardson High School in |
---|
14 | 15 | | 1976, and she later earned an accounting degree from The University |
---|
15 | 16 | | of Texas at Austin in 1980; and |
---|
16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams shared a fulfilling union with her |
---|
17 | 18 | | loving husband, Alan, that spanned 42 years; she took great pride in |
---|
18 | 19 | | their two sons, Dustin and Tyler, and with the passing years, she |
---|
19 | 20 | | had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include six |
---|
20 | 21 | | grandchildren; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Following her certification as a public accountant |
---|
22 | 23 | | in 1984, Mrs. Williams went on to own a private accounting firm for |
---|
23 | 24 | | two decades; in 2004, she joined her husband in becoming the |
---|
24 | 25 | | operator of a Chick-fil-A franchise, where she readily stepped in |
---|
25 | 26 | | to fill any role necessary up until her final days; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A deeply religious woman, Mrs. Williams drew |
---|
27 | 28 | | strength from her Christian beliefs and served as a mentor, |
---|
28 | 29 | | volunteer, and spiritual leader; after Mr. Williams was diagnosed |
---|
29 | 30 | | with cancer, she published The Power of a Caregiver in 2017 as part |
---|
30 | 31 | | of her Transformational Adventure ministry, and the couple later |
---|
31 | 32 | | published four more books themed around the faith experience when |
---|
32 | 33 | | faced with the challenges of cancer; and |
---|
33 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Inda Williams lived a rich and purposeful life |
---|
34 | 35 | | centered around her family and her faith, and she will long be |
---|
35 | 36 | | remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, |
---|

37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

38 | 39 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Inda Sorrels |
