| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Cernosek Wrecker Service in Pasadena and Deer Park |

| 9 | 9 | | is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, and this occasion |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | provides a welcome opportunity to recognize the business and its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | founder and owner, Larry Cernosek; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, First establishing Cernosek Wrecker in Houston in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1975, Mr. Cernosek moved the business to Deer Park in 1981 and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | expanded the enterprise to include an automotive shop, Deer Park |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Paint & Body; over the years, Mr. Cernosek has been very active in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | his industry, serving several terms as chair of the Texas Towing and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Storage Association and holding membership in the Texas Motor |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Transportation Association, which he previously led as president; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | he was inducted into the International Towing and Recovery Hall of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Fame in 2000 and the Texas Towing Hall of Fame in 2003; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Engaged in the wider community as well, Mr. Cernosek |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | has been involved with both the Deer Park and Pasadena Chambers of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Commerce; he has also served on the business development board at |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Sterling Bank and as treasurer of The Rose, a nonprofit |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | organization that offers breast cancer screening and diagnostic |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | services; in addition, he has held leadership roles with North |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Pasadena Community Outreach, which provides educational, health, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and after-school programs, and Sarah's House, a women's and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | children's shelter; during his tenure as chair of the shelter, he |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | was instrumental in acquiring a building in order to serve more |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | individuals; among his many honors, he has received the Outstanding |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Citizen of the Year and Lay Person of the Year awards from the Deer |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Park Chamber and the Community Builder Award from the Deer Park |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Masonic Lodge; and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, For half a century, Cernosek Wrecker has been a |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | valued member of the Lone Star State's business community, and it is |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | a pleasure to join in celebrating this venerable enterprise as it |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | marks this milestone year in its history; now, therefore, be it |

| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of Cernosek |

| 41 | 41 | | Wrecker Service and extend to Larry Cernosek and his staff sincere |

| 42 | 42 | | best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
