77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Imari Reynolds has ably served her fellow Texans as
99 a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu
1010 during the 89th Legislative Session; and
1111 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Reynolds has shared her
1212 valuable knowledge with the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee
1313 and earned the appreciation of her colleagues for her commitment,
1414 fierce advocacy, and sense of humor; in addition to gaining
1515 valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned
1616 more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens
1717 of the Lone Star State; and
1818 WHEREAS, Ms. Reynolds plans to graduate in May 2026 from the
1919 Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where
2020 she is vice president of the Black Law Students Association and
2121 president of the Civil Rights Law Society; she is an alumna of the
2222 University of California, Santa Cruz and has studied at the
2323 University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados, the
2424 University of Ghana, and the University of the Western Cape; while
2525 attending UCSC, she was recognized as the 2017 Cowell College
2626 Student Leader of the Year and was president of the Black Student
2727 Union and the university's chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority;
2828 over the years, she has served as a client advocate for the Harris
2929 County Public Defender's Office, special education teacher at
3030 Raleigh-Egypt High School as part of Teach for America, chair of
3131 Destination Higher Education, and immigration and abolition pillar
3232 lead at Social Justice Solutions; and
3333 WHEREAS, Imari Reynolds has performed her duties as a
3434 legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
3535 deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
3636 be it
3737 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3838 Legislature hereby commend Imari Reynolds for her service as a
3939 legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and
4040 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her
4141 endeavors; and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4343 prepared for Ms. Reynolds as an expression of high regard by the
4444 Texas House of Representatives.
