| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mark Lucas has distinguished himself in his |

| 9 | 9 | | responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State |

| 10 | 10 | | Representative Terri Leo Wilson during the 89th Legislative |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Session; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Lucas has provided |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A native of Cedar Park, Mr. Lucas is currently a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | junior at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is working |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | towards his degree in government; active in the campus community, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | he is a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps program, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and his responsibilities have included serving as assistant |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | physical training officer; following his graduation in 2026, he |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | will be commissioned in the U.S. Navy; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mark Lucas has performed his duties as a legislative |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Mark Lucas for his service as a |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | legislative intern in the office of State Representative Terri Leo |

| 30 | 30 | | Wilson and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success |
