| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Rebecca Currie has ably served her fellow Texans as |

| 9 | 9 | | an intern in the office of State Representative Terri Leo Wilson |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Currie has provided |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; moreover, she has |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | earned the office's unofficial title of "Canva Queen" for her |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | exceptional graphic design skills; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of IMPACT Early College High School in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Baytown, Ms. Currie is currently studying political communication |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is a member of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Sigma Epsilon chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority; while earning an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | associate's degree from Lee College, she was instrumental in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | helping the school capture both the 2023 and 2024 International |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Public Debate Association community college championships; over |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the years, she has completed internships with CastleRock |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Communities, Ted Cruz for Senate, and VYPE Media; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca Currie for her service as a |
