| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 39.554(f), Utilities Code, is amended to | |
| 13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (f) Unless the commission approves an alternative method | |
| 15 | 15 | for compensating a distributed renewable generation owner for | |
| 16 | 16 | electricity generated by distributed renewable generation or a | |
| 17 | 17 | qualifying facility, for [For] a distributed renewable generation | |
| 18 | 18 | owner that chooses interconnection through a single meter under | |
| 19 | 19 | Subsection (e): | |
| 20 | 20 | (1) the amount of electricity the owner generates | |
| 21 | 21 | through distributed renewable generation or a qualifying facility | |
| 22 | 22 | for a given billing period offsets the owner's consumption for that | |
| 23 | 23 | billing period; and | |
| 24 | 24 | (2) any electricity the owner generates through | |
| 25 | 25 | distributed renewable generation or a qualifying facility that | |
| 26 | 26 | exceeds the owner's consumption for a given billing period shall be | |
| 27 | 27 | credited to the owner under Subsection (g). | |
| 28 | 28 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
