| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 48, Education Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 48.121 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 48.121. SCHOOL UNIFORM ALLOTMENT. (a) Except as | |
| 15 | 15 | provided by Subsection (c), for each student in average daily | |
| 16 | 16 | attendance who attends a school at which school uniforms are | |
| 17 | 17 | required, a school district is entitled to an annual allotment of | |
| 18 | 18 | $100. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) Money allocated under this section may be used only to | |
| 20 | 20 | provide uniforms to each student who is required to wear a uniform. | |
| 21 | 21 | (c) In any school year in which the amount of money | |
| 22 | 22 | appropriated for purposes of this section is less than the amount of | |
| 23 | 23 | money to which school districts are entitled, the commissioner: | |
| 24 | 24 | (1) may provide an allotment to a district under | |
| 25 | 25 | Subsection (a) only if there is sufficient money to provide the | |
| 26 | 26 | district the full amount to which the district is entitled under | |
| 27 | 27 | this section; and | |
| 28 | 28 | (2) shall prioritize districts that receive funding | |
| 29 | 29 | under Title I, Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 | |
| 30 | 30 | U.S.C. Section 6301 et seq.). | |
| 31 | 31 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
