12 | 12 | SECTION 1. The heading to Section 82.002, Election Code, is | |

14 | 14 | Sec. 82.002. DISABILITY OR OTHER PHYSICAL CONDITION | |
15 | 15 | [CONFINEMENT FOR CHILDBIRTH]. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 82.002(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
17 | 17 | read as follows: | |
18 | 18 | (a) A qualified voter is eligible for early voting by mail | |
19 | 19 | if the voter: | |
20 | 20 | (1) has a sickness or physical condition that prevents | |
21 | 21 | the voter from appearing at the polling place on election day | |
22 | 22 | without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring | |
23 | 23 | the voter's health; [or] | |
24 | 24 | (2) is expecting to give birth within four [three] | |
25 | 25 | weeks before or after election day; or | |
26 | 26 | (3) will be in the second or third trimester of | |
27 | 27 | pregnancy on election day. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
