11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 21.115, Transportation Code, is amended | |
13 | 13 | to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 21.115. FUNDING FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL SERVICE | |
15 | 15 | AIRPORTS. To the extent consistent with federal funding | |
16 | 16 | restrictions, a project involving a commercial service airport is | |
17 | 17 | eligible for financial assistance under this subchapter, including | |
18 | 18 | for inclusion in the aviation facilities capital improvement | |
19 | 19 | program, if the airport: | |
20 | 20 | (1) is located in a county along the Texas-Mexico | |
21 | 21 | border that has a population of less than 300,000; or | |
22 | 22 | (2) is managed jointly with a public agency of another | |
23 | 23 | state and serves a county adjacent to the border of this state. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
25 | 25 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
26 | 26 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
27 | 27 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
28 | 28 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
