| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 64.009, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (d-1) to read as | |
| 13 | 13 | follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (d) On the voter's request for assistance in marking the | |
| 15 | 15 | ballot, two election officers shall provide assistance in marking | |
| 16 | 16 | the ballot in the manner prescribed by Section 64.032 [a person | |
| 17 | 17 | accompanying the voter shall be permitted to select the voter's | |
| 18 | 18 | ballot and deposit the ballot in the ballot box]. | |
| 19 | 19 | (d-1) Any person accompanying the voter shall exit the | |
| 20 | 20 | vehicle and remain outside of the vehicle unless the person is | |
| 21 | 21 | selected by the voter under Section 64.032(c). | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
