69 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
710 AN ACT
811 relating to the continuation of the Task Force on Consolidation of
912 Workforce and Social Services.
1013 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1114 SECTION 1. Section 319.005, Labor Code, is amended to read
1215 as follows:
1316 Sec. 319.005. REPORT TO LEGISLATURE. Not later than
1417 December 31 of each even-numbered year[, 2024], the task force
1518 shall prepare and submit to the legislature a report that includes:
1619 (1) a description of the activities of the task force;
1720 (2) the consolidation plan developed by the task
1821 force; and
1922 (3) the findings and recommendations of the task
2023 force.
2124 SECTION 2. Section 319.006, Labor Code, is amended to read
2225 as follows:
2326 Sec. 319.006. EXPIRATION. The task force is abolished and
2427 this chapter expires September 1, 2027 [2025].
2528 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2629 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2730 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2831 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2932 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
