| 10 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 12 | 15 | | is amended by adding Section 225.243 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 16 | | Sec. 225.243. VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. (a) The portion |
|---|
| 14 | 17 | | of U.S. Highway 69 in Smith County between its intersection with |
|---|
| 15 | 18 | | South State Loop 323 and its intersection with the northern |
|---|
| 16 | 19 | | municipal limits of Bullard is designated as the Veterans Memorial |
|---|
| 17 | 20 | | Highway. The designation is in addition to any other designation. |
|---|
| 18 | 21 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 19 | 22 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 20 | 23 | | designation as the Veterans Memorial Highway and any other |
|---|
| 21 | 24 | | appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 22 | 25 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 23 | 26 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |

| 24 | 27 | | SECTION 2. It is the intention of the 89th Legislature, |
|---|
| 25 | 28 | | Regular Session, 2025, that the provisions added by this Act be |
|---|
| 26 | 29 | | renumbered to prevent multiple provisions with the same |
|---|
| 27 | 30 | | designation. |
|---|
| 28 | 31 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
