77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the composition of the Sexual Assault Survivors' Task
1010 Force.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 772.0064(d), Government Code, is amended
1313 to read as follows:
1414 (d) The task force is composed of the following members:
1515 (1) the governor or the governor's designee;
1616 (2) a representative of each state agency that has
1717 duties relating to the prevention, investigation, or prosecution of
1818 sexual assault or other sex offenses or provides services to
1919 survivors, including:
2020 (A) the office of the attorney general;
2121 (B) the Health and Human Services Commission; and
2222 (C) the Department of Family and Protective
2323 Services;
2424 (3) the executive director of the Texas Commission on
2525 Law Enforcement or the executive director's designee;
2626 (4) the presiding officer of the Texas Forensic
2727 Science Commission or the presiding officer's designee;
2828 (5) the division director of the law enforcement
2929 support division of the Texas Department of Public Safety with
3030 authority over the Crime Laboratory Service or the division
3131 director's designee;
3232 (6) the president of the Texas Association of Crime
3333 Laboratory Directors or the president's designee;
3434 (7) the president of the Texas District and County
3535 Attorney's Association or the president's designee;
3636 (8) the president of the Texas Emergency Nurses
3737 Association or the president's designee;
3838 (9) the president of the International Association of
3939 Forensic Nurses Texas Chapter or the president's designee;
4040 (10) [(9)] the president of the statewide
4141 organization described by Section 264.409, Family Code, or the
4242 president's designee;
4343 (11) [(10)] the president of the state sexual assault
4444 coalition, as defined by Section 420.003, or the president's
4545 designee;
4646 (12) [(11)] a representative from a law enforcement
4747 agency appointed by the steering committee described by Subsection
4848 (c);
4949 (13) [(12)] a sexual assault nurse examiner appointed
5050 by the steering committee described by Subsection (c) to represent
5151 the interests of health care facilities that perform sexual assault
5252 forensic exams;
5353 (14) [(13)] an adult survivor of child sexual abuse or
5454 the parent or guardian of a survivor of child sexual abuse;
5555 (15) [(14)] a survivor of adult sexual assault; and
5656 (16) [(15)] other members considered appropriate by
5757 the steering committee described by Subsection (c).
5858 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
5959 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
6060 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
6161 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
6262 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
