 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to weight and tire load restrictions for the operation of a
 vehicle transporting ready-mixed concrete on a public highway.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  The heading to Section 622.012, Transportation
 Code, is amended to read as follows:
 Sec. 622.012.  [AXLE] WEIGHT AND TIRE LOAD RESTRICTIONS.
 SECTION 2.  Section 622.012(a), Transportation Code, is
 amended to read as follows:
 (a)  A ready-mixed concrete truck may be operated on a public
 highway of this state only if:
 (1)  the truck's tandem axle weight, or the weight of a
 group of axles that does not exceed nine feet, is not heavier than
 46,000 pounds;
 (2)  [and] the truck's single axle weight is not heavier
 than 23,000 pounds;
 (3)  the truck's gross weight is not heavier than the
 greater of:
 (A)  69,000 pounds; or
 (B)  the truck's maximum allowable weight under
 the formula established in Section 621.101; and
 (4)  the load rating of the truck's tires is not
 exceeded.
 SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
