| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 392.014, Local Government Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 392.014. AREA OF OPERATION OF A MUNICIPAL HOUSING | |
| 14 | 14 | AUTHORITY. The area of operation of a municipal housing authority | |
| 15 | 15 | is limited to the territorial boundaries of the municipality for | |
| 16 | 16 | which the authority is created [and the area that is within five | |
| 17 | 17 | miles of the territorial boundaries of the municipality and is not | |
| 18 | 18 | within the territorial boundaries of another municipality]. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act do not affect | |
| 20 | 20 | the validity or enforceability of a contract that was entered into | |
| 21 | 21 | by the board of a municipal housing authority before the effective | |
| 22 | 22 | date of this Act. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
