77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the route designation for the issuance of a permit for
1010 the movement of oversize and overweight vehicles in certain
1111 counties.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 623.219(a), Transportation Code, is
1414 amended to read as follows:
1515 (a) For a permit issued by a port authority located in a
1616 county that borders the United Mexican States, the commission
1717 shall, with the consent of the port authority, designate the most
1818 direct route [from]:
1919 (1) from the Gateway International Bridge or the
2020 Veterans International Bridge at Los Tomates to the entrance of the
2121 Port of Brownsville using State Highways 48 and 4 or United States
2222 Highways 77 and 83 or using United States Highway 77 and United
2323 States Highway 83, East Loop Corridor, and State Highway 4; and
2424 (2) between the Free Trade International Bridge and
2525 [to]:
2626 (A) the entrance of the Port of Brownsville using
2727 Farm-to-Market Road 509, United States Highways 77 and 83,
2828 Farm-to-Market Road 511, State Highway 550, and East Loop (State
2929 Highway 32);
3030 (B) the eastern entrance of the Port of Harlingen
3131 using Farm-to-Market Road 509, United States Highway 77 Business,
3232 and Farm-to-Market Road 1846;
3333 (C) the western entrance of the Port of Harlingen
3434 using Farm-to-Market Roads 509 and 106;
3535 (D) the southern entrance of the Harlingen
3636 Industrial Park using Farm-to-Market Road 509; and
3737 (E) the southern entrance of the Harlingen
3838 Aerotropolis at Valley International Airport using Farm-to-Market
3939 Road 509.
4040 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
