77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the reporting of information regarding high school
1010 performance acknowledgments earned by public school students.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 28.025(e-2), Education Code, is amended
1313 to read as follows:
1414 (e-2) At the end of each school year, each school district
1515 shall report through the Public Education Information Management
1616 System (PEIMS) the number of district students who, during that
1717 school year[, were]:
1818 (1) were enrolled in the foundation high school
1919 program;
2020 (2) were pursuing the distinguished level of
2121 achievement under the foundation high school program as provided by
2222 Subsection (b-15); [and]
2323 (3) were enrolled in a program to earn an endorsement
2424 described by Subsection (c-1); and
2525 (4) earned each type of performance acknowledgement
2626 described by Subsection (c-5).
2727 SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026
2828 school year.
2929 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3030 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3131 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3232 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3333 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
