11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 87, Education Code, is |
---|
13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 87.005 to read as follows: |
---|
14 | 14 | | Sec. 87.005. TARLETON STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF |
---|
15 | 15 | | OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE. (a) In this section: |
---|
16 | 16 | | (1) "Board" means the board of regents of The Texas A&M |
---|
17 | 17 | | University System. |
---|
18 | 18 | | (2) "College" means the Tarleton State University |
---|
19 | 19 | | College of Osteopathic Medicine established under this section. |
---|
20 | 20 | | (3) "University" means Tarleton State University. |
---|
21 | 21 | | (b) The Tarleton State University College of Osteopathic |
---|
22 | 22 | | Medicine is a college of the university and is under the management |
---|
23 | 23 | | and control of the board with degrees offered under the name and |
---|
24 | 24 | | authority of the university. |
---|
25 | 25 | | (c) The board may prescribe courses leading to customary |
---|
26 | 26 | | degrees and may adopt policies for the operation, control, and |
---|
27 | 27 | | management of the college as necessary for conducting a college of |
---|
28 | 28 | | osteopathic medicine of the first class. |
---|
29 | 29 | | (d) A teaching hospital considered suitable by the board may |
---|
30 | 30 | | be provided by a public or private entity. |
---|
31 | 31 | | SECTION 2. Section 61.003(5), Education Code, is amended to |
---|
32 | 32 | | read as follows: |

112 | 112 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
113 | 113 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
