| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 552.11765, Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c-1) to read as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b) Except as provided by Subsections (c), (c-1), and (d), |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | information maintained by a governmental body described by Section |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 552.003(1)(A)(i) is confidential and excepted from the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | requirements of Section 552.021 if the information: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) is a license application; or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) relates to the home address, home telephone |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | number, electronic mail address, social security number, date of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | birth, driver's license number, state identification number, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | passport number, emergency contact information, or payment |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | information of: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (A) an applicant for a license issued by the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | governmental body; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (B) an individual who holds a license issued by |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the governmental body; or |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (C) an individual who previously held a license |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | issued by the governmental body. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (c-1) Subsection (b) does not prohibit the secretary of |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | state from disclosing the home address, home telephone number, or |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | electronic mail address of a notary public appointed under |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Subchapter A, Chapter 406. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
