11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Article 14.03(g)(2), Code of Criminal Procedure, | |
13 | 13 | is amended to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (2) A peace officer described by Article 2A.001(3) or | |
15 | 15 | (14), who is licensed under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, and is | |
16 | 16 | outside of the officer's jurisdiction may arrest without a warrant | |
17 | 17 | a person who commits any offense within the officer's presence or | |
18 | 18 | view, except that an officer described in this subdivision who is | |
19 | 19 | outside of that officer's jurisdiction may arrest a person for a | |
20 | 20 | violation of Subtitle C, Title 7, Transportation Code, only if the | |
21 | 21 | offense is committed in the county or counties in which the | |
22 | 22 | municipality or district employing the peace officer is located. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
