88 AN ACT
99 relating to the eligibility of a relative or other designated
1010 caregiver of a foster child for monetary assistance.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 264.760, Family Code, is amended to read
1313 as follows:
1414 Sec. 264.760. ELIGIBILITY FOR FOSTER CARE PAYMENTS AND
1515 PERMANENCY CARE ASSISTANCE. Notwithstanding any other provision of
1616 this subchapter, a relative or other designated caregiver [who
1717 becomes verified by a licensed child-placing agency to operate an
1818 agency foster home under Chapter 42, Human Resources Code,] may
1919 elect to receive foster care payments in lieu of the benefits
2020 provided by this subchapter[, beginning with the first month in
2121 which the relative or other designated caregiver becomes licensed
2222 or is verified].
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
