| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is | |
| 14 | 14 | amended by adding Section 403.0306 to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | Sec. 403.0306. REPORT ON CERTAIN VETERAN EMPLOYMENT ISSUES. | |
| 16 | 16 | Not later than December 31 of each year, the comptroller shall | |
| 17 | 17 | prepare and submit to the legislature a report that, for the period | |
| 18 | 18 | covered by the report: | |
| 19 | 19 | (1) measures the effect of veteran-owned businesses on | |
| 20 | 20 | the gross domestic product of this state; and | |
| 21 | 21 | (2) includes an estimate of: | |
| 22 | 22 | (A) the number of employed and unemployed | |
| 23 | 23 | veterans in this state; and | |
| 24 | 24 | (B) the number of veteran-owned businesses in | |
| 25 | 25 | this state. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
