| 10 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 12 | 15 | | is amended by adding Section 225.243 to read as follows: |

| 13 | 16 | | Sec. 225.243. FIRST RESPONDERS MEMORIAL LOOP. (a) The |
|---|
| 14 | 17 | | portion of State Highway Loop 88 under construction as of September |
|---|
| 15 | 18 | | 1, 2025, as a relief route around Lubbock, in Lubbock County is |
|---|
| 16 | 19 | | designated as the First Responders Memorial Loop. The designation |
|---|
| 17 | 20 | | is in addition to any other designation. |
|---|
| 18 | 21 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 19 | 22 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 20 | 23 | | designation as the |
|---|
| 21 | 24 | | First Responders Memorial Loop and any other |
|---|
| 22 | 25 | | appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 23 | 26 | | (2) erect a marker at appropriate sites along the |
|---|
| 24 | 27 | | loop. |

| 25 | 28 | | SECTION 2. It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular |
|---|
| 26 | 29 | | Session, 2025, that the provisions added by this Act be renumbered |
|---|
| 27 | 30 | | to prevent multiple provisions with the same designation. |
|---|
| 28 | 31 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
