159 relating to the eligibility of the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington
1610 for funding under the major events reimbursement program.
1711 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1812 SECTION 1. Sections 478.0001(3) and (7), Government Code,
1913 are amended to read as follows:
2014 (3) "Event" means any of the following and includes
2115 any activity related to or associated with the following:
2216 (A) the Academy of Country Music Awards;
2317 (B) the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic
2418 Games;
2519 (C) the Bassmaster Classic;
2620 (D) a Big 12 Football Conference Championship
2721 game;
2822 (E) the Breeders' Cup World Championships;
2923 (F) the CMT (Country Music Television) Music
3024 Awards;
3125 (G) a game of the College Football Playoff or its
3226 successor;
3327 (H) the Confederation of North, Central America
3428 and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) Gold Cup;
3529 (I) a CONVRG conference;
3630 (J) an Elite Rodeo Association World
3731 Championship;
3832 (K) a Federation Equestre Internationale World
3933 Cup Final;
4034 (L) a Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme
4135 (FIM) World Supercross Championship race;
4236 (M) the Formula One United States Grand Prix;
4337 (M-1) the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington;
4438 (N) the largest event held each year at a sports
4539 entertainment venue in this state with a permanent seating

149- SECTION 2. Section 478.0051, Government Code, is amended by
150- adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
151- (d) Notwithstanding Subsection (b), an event described by
152- Section 478.0001(3)(M-1) may receive funding through the program if
153- a site selection organization selects a site in this state as the
154- sole site for the event without considering through a highly
155- competitive process one or more sites not in this state.
156- SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
