A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the creation of an additional county civil court at law
in Harris County.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 25.1031(a), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(a) Harris County has the following county civil courts at
law:
(1) County Civil Court at Law No. 1 of Harris County,
Texas;
(2) County Civil Court at Law No. 2 of Harris County,
Texas;
(3) County Civil Court at Law No. 3 of Harris County,
Texas; [and]
(4) County Civil Court at Law No. 4 of Harris County,
Texas; and
(5) County Civil Court at Law No. 5 of Harris County,
Texas.
SECTION 2. The County Civil Court at Law No. 5 of Harris
County is created on the effective date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
