11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 508.1143 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 508.1143. CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS ON RELEASEE JOB | |
15 | 15 | INTERVIEWS PROHIBITED. A parole officer may not: | |
16 | 16 | (1) limit the number of job interviews that a releasee | |
17 | 17 | may attend per day; or | |
18 | 18 | (2) prohibit a releasee from visiting a premises, | |
19 | 19 | facility, or location without specific approval for the visit by | |
20 | 20 | the parole officer if the visit is for a job interview and the | |
21 | 21 | releasee has previously been approved to visit the premises, | |
22 | 22 | facility, or location for a related purpose. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
24 | 24 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
25 | 25 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
26 | 26 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
27 | 27 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
