| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 43.007, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (q) to read as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (a) The secretary of state shall implement a program to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | allow each commissioners court participating in the program to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | [eliminate county election precinct polling places and] establish |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | countywide polling places at each county election precinct for: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (1) any election required to be conducted by the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | county; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) any election held as part of a joint election |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | agreement with a county under Chapter 271; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (3) any election held under contract for election |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | services with a county under Subchapter D, Chapter 31; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (4) each primary election and runoff primary election |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | if: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (A) the county chair or county executive |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | committee of each political party participating in a joint primary |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | election under Section 172.126 agrees to the use of countywide |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | polling places; or |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (B) the county chair or county executive |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | committee of each political party required to nominate candidates |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | by primary election agrees to use the same countywide polling |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | places; and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (5) each election of a political subdivision located |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | in the county that is held jointly with an election described by |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Subdivision (3) or (4). |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (q) Each countywide polling place must be provided with a |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | poll list for the entire county. |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | SECTION 2. Sections 43.007(f), (g), (h), (m), and (n), |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Election Code, are repealed. |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
