| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 20.05, Business & Commerce Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a-1) A consumer reporting agency may not furnish a consumer | |
| 15 | 15 | report containing information related to an eviction suit brought | |
| 16 | 16 | under Chapter 24, Property Code, in which the date of final | |
| 17 | 17 | disposition of the suit predates the consumer report by more than | |
| 18 | 18 | seven years. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 20 | 20 | to a consumer report furnished on or after the effective date of | |
| 21 | 21 | this Act. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
