11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Chapter 370, Local Government Code, is amended | |
13 | 13 | by adding Section 370.010 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 370.010. ONLINE LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTING SYSTEM. A | |
15 | 15 | municipality or county that maintains or operates or contracts with | |
16 | 16 | a third party to maintain or operate an online law enforcement | |
17 | 17 | reporting system to electronically record, store, manage, and | |
18 | 18 | analyze law enforcement reports must provide a person who submitted | |
19 | 19 | a law enforcement report through the system a reasonable | |
20 | 20 | opportunity to cure any defects in the report before issuing a | |
21 | 21 | denial. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
