| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Sections 320.0455(a) and (b-1), Local Government | |
| 13 | 13 | Code, are amended to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (a) This section applies only to a county with a population | |
| 15 | 15 | of: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) 2.8 million or more; | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) 800,000 or more that is adjacent to a county with a | |
| 18 | 18 | population of 2.8 million or more; [or] | |
| 19 | 19 | (3) more than 550,000 and less than 620,000; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (4) less than 75,000 that is adjacent to three | |
| 21 | 21 | counties with populations of more than 450,000. | |
| 22 | 22 | (b-1) A board created for a county described by Subsection | |
| 23 | 23 | (a)(2) or (a)(4) may not adopt rules relating to the use of | |
| 24 | 24 | fireworks. | |
| 25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
