| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 43.1463, Local Government Code, is | |
| 14 | 14 | amended by adding Subsection (f-1) to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (f-1) A limited district that was created by the conversion | |
| 16 | 16 | of a special district under a strategic partnership agreement and | |
| 17 | 17 | is located in and serving an area that is disannexed under this | |
| 18 | 18 | section may exercise all powers and duties granted to the former | |
| 19 | 19 | special district by law in the portion of the disannexed area | |
| 20 | 20 | located in the district, notwithstanding the strategic partnership | |
| 21 | 21 | agreement or other agreement executed by the district and the | |
| 22 | 22 | disannexing municipality before the disannexation. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 24 | 24 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 25 | 25 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 26 | 26 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 27 | 27 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
