611 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
712 AN ACT
813 relating to electronic delivery of documents sent or received by
914 the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
1015 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1116 SECTION 1. Section 51.207, Occupations Code, is amended by
1217 amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d) to read as
1318 follows:
1419 (c) The commission by rule may require an applicant or[,]
1520 license holder[, or other person who regularly receives
1621 correspondence from the department] to provide an e-mail address to
1722 the department [for purposes of receiving correspondence]. An
1823 e-mail address used under this subsection is confidential and is
1924 not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code.
2025 (d) Notwithstanding any other law, the commission by rule
2126 may provide that any correspondence sent or received by the
2227 department be delivered electronically, including any notice,
2328 order, or pleading required under Chapter 2001, Government Code,
2429 this chapter, or a law establishing a regulatory program
2530 administered by the department.
2631 SECTION 2. Sections 51.310(c) and 51.354(c), Occupations
2732 Code, are repealed.
2833 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
