10 | 15 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 16 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.207, Occupations Code, is amended by |
---|
12 | 17 | | amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d) to read as |
---|
13 | 18 | | follows: |
---|
14 | 19 | | (c) The commission by rule may require an applicant or[,] |
---|
15 | 20 | | license holder[, or other person who regularly receives |
---|
16 | 21 | | correspondence from the department] to provide an e-mail address to |
---|
17 | 22 | | the department [for purposes of receiving correspondence]. An |
---|
18 | 23 | | e-mail address used under this subsection is confidential and is |
---|
19 | 24 | | not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code. |
---|
20 | 25 | | (d) Notwithstanding any other law, the commission by rule |
---|
21 | 26 | | may provide that any correspondence sent or received by the |
---|
22 | 27 | | department be delivered electronically, including any notice, |
---|
23 | 28 | | order, or pleading required under Chapter 2001, Government Code, |
---|
24 | 29 | | this chapter, or a law establishing a regulatory program |
---|
25 | 30 | | administered by the department. |

26 | 31 | | SECTION 2. Sections 51.310(c) and 51.354(c), Occupations |
---|
27 | 32 | | Code, are repealed. |
---|
28 | 33 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
