10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 411, Government Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Sec. 411.XXX to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 411.XXX. ACCESS TO CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD | |
14 | 14 | INFORMATION: Texas Access to Justice. | |
15 | 15 | (a) Legal service providers funded in part by the Texas | |
16 | 16 | Access to Justice Foundation are entitled to obtain from the | |
17 | 17 | department criminal history record information maintained by the | |
18 | 18 | department that relates to seeking expunction and nondisclosure | |
19 | 19 | relief from the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. | |
20 | 20 | (b) Criminal history record information access under this | |
21 | 21 | section can be further disseminated to a Texas court. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
