| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. (a) In this section: | |
| 14 | 14 | (1) "Commission" means the Texas Commission on | |
| 15 | 15 | Environmental Quality. | |
| 16 | 16 | (2) "Department" means the Department of State Health | |
| 17 | 17 | Services. | |
| 18 | 18 | (b) The commission and the department shall conduct a joint | |
| 19 | 19 | study to assess the potential human health risks associated with | |
| 20 | 20 | exposure to hydrogen sulfide. | |
| 21 | 21 | (c) Not later than December 1, 2026, the commission and | |
| 22 | 22 | department shall submit to the legislature a report on the results | |
| 23 | 23 | of the study and any recommendations for legislative or other | |
| 24 | 24 | action. | |
| 25 | 25 | (d) This section expires January 1, 2027. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
