| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 130.082, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 13 | 13 | adding Subsection (g-1) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (g-1) The board by resolution may provide, not later than | |
| 15 | 15 | the 180th day before the date of an election, that a candidate must | |
| 16 | 16 | receive a plurality of the votes cast for a position to be filled at | |
| 17 | 17 | the election under Subsection (g). A resolution adopted under this | |
| 18 | 18 | subsection is effective for subsequent elections until rescinded by | |
| 19 | 19 | a subsequent resolution adopted not later than the 180th day before | |
| 20 | 20 | the date of the first election to which the rescission applies. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
