| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, | |
| 13 | 13 | is amended by adding Section 225.243 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 225.243. FIRE MARSHAL JIMMY W. SEATON MEMORIAL | |
| 15 | 15 | HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of State Highway 64 in Smith County | |
| 16 | 16 | between its intersection with State Highway Loop 323 and its | |
| 17 | 17 | intersection with the western Smith County line is designated as | |
| 18 | 18 | the Fire Marshal Jimmy W. Seaton Memorial Highway. The designation | |
| 19 | 19 | is in addition to any other designation. | |
| 20 | 20 | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: | |
| 21 | 21 | (1) design and construct markers indicating the | |
| 22 | 22 | designation as the Fire Marshal Jimmy W. Seaton Memorial Highway | |
| 23 | 23 | and any other appropriate information; and | |
| 24 | 24 | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at | |
| 25 | 25 | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. It is the intention of the 89th Legislature, | |
| 27 | 27 | Regular Session, 2025, that the provisions added by this Act be | |
| 28 | 28 | renumbered to prevent multiple provisions with the same | |
| 29 | 29 | designation. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
