10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 232.001(a), Local Government Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (a) The owner of a tract of land located outside the limits | |
14 | 14 | of a municipality must have a plat of the subdivision prepared if | |
15 | 15 | the owner divides the tract into two or more parts to lay out: | |
16 | 16 | (1) a subdivision of the tract, including an addition; | |
17 | 17 | (2) lots; or | |
18 | 18 | (3) streets, alleys, squares, parks, or other parts of | |
19 | 19 | the tract intended by the owner of the tract to be dedicated for: | |
20 | 20 | (A) [to] public use; or | |
21 | 21 | (B) private use by a purchaser or owner of a lot. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
