| 17 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 18 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 51, Education Code, is | |
| 19 | 12 | amended by adding Section 51.984 to read as follows: | |
| 20 | 13 | Sec. 51.984. LAW SCHOOL ACCREDITATION. (a) In this | |
| 21 | 14 | section, "institution of higher education" and "private or | |
| 22 | 15 | independent institution of higher education" have the meanings | |
| 23 | 16 | assigned by Section 61.003. | |
| 24 | 17 | (b) A law school at an institution of higher education or | |
| 25 | 18 | private or independent institution of higher education must be | |
| 26 | 19 | accredited by an accreditor recognized by the United States | |
