| 12 | 12 | | relating to the reporting requirement for certain law enforcement |

| 13 | 13 | | agencies regarding the agencies' use or operation of an unmanned |

| 14 | 14 | | aircraft. |

| 15 | 15 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 1. Section 423.008(a), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (a) Not earlier than January 1 and not later than January 15 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of each odd-numbered year, each state law enforcement agency and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | each county or municipal law enforcement agency located in a county |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | or municipality, as applicable, with a population greater than |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 150,000, that used or operated an unmanned aircraft during the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | preceding 24 months shall [issue a written report to the governor, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the lieutenant governor, and each member of the legislature and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | shall: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | [(1) retain the report for public viewing; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | [(2)] post a [the] report regarding the agency's use or |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | operation of unmanned aircraft on the [law enforcement] agency's |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | publicly accessible Internet website or, if the agency does not |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | have a publicly accessible Internet website, otherwise make the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | report available to the public [one exists]. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
