11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 17.922(a), Water Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (a) The board shall use the economically distressed areas | |
15 | 15 | account to provide financial assistance to political subdivisions | |
16 | 16 | for the construction, acquisition, or improvement of water supply | |
17 | 17 | and sewer services, including providing funds from the account for: | |
18 | 18 | (1) the state's participation in federal programs that | |
19 | 19 | provide assistance solely for projects intended to serve | |
20 | 20 | economically distressed areas; or | |
21 | 21 | (2) costs associated with platting or replatting an | |
22 | 22 | area in preparation for connecting the area to a public water supply | |
23 | 23 | or sanitary sewer system if the area to be platted or replatted was | |
24 | 24 | developed before the model rules were adopted by the board under | |
25 | 25 | Section 16.343. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
