| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 51.942(a)(3), Education Code, is amended | |
| 13 | 13 | to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (3) "Neglect of duty" means continuing or repeated | |
| 15 | 15 | substantial neglect of professional responsibilities, including | |
| 16 | 16 | responsibilities for: | |
| 17 | 17 | (A) engaging in classroom, laboratory, seminar, | |
| 18 | 18 | or clinical instruction; | |
| 19 | 19 | (B) pursuing research through study, | |
| 20 | 20 | investigation, discovery, and creation; and | |
| 21 | 21 | (C) attending to administrative tasks. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
