| 15 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 16 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 341.034(c), Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 17 | 13 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 18 | 14 | (c) A person who repairs or tests the installation or | |
| 19 | 15 | operation of backflow prevention assemblies must: | |
| 20 | 16 | (1) hold a license issued by the commission under | |
| 21 | 17 | Chapter 37, Water Code; or | |
| 22 | 18 | (2) hold a certification issued by a nationally | |
| 23 | 19 | recognized accrediting organization qualifying the person to test | |
| 24 | 20 | backflow prevention assemblies. | |
| 25 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | |
