88 relating to the public information law.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 552.234, Government Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows:
1212 (e) On or before October 1 of each year, a governmental body
1313 subject to the requirements of this Chapter must notify the
1414 attorney general of the mailing address and electronic mail address
1515 designated by the governmental body for receiving written requests
1616 for public information.
1717 (f) The attorney general shall create and maintain on its
1818 public Internet website a publicly accessible database of the
1919 mailing address and electronic mail address provided by each
2020 governmental body under subsection (e) for receiving written
2121 requests for public information.
2222 Section 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a
2323 vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2424 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2525 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2626 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
