9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 552.234, Government Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (e) On or before October 1 of each year, a governmental body | |
13 | 13 | subject to the requirements of this Chapter must notify the | |
14 | 14 | attorney general of the mailing address and electronic mail address | |
15 | 15 | designated by the governmental body for receiving written requests | |
16 | 16 | for public information. | |
17 | 17 | (f) The attorney general shall create and maintain on its | |
18 | 18 | public Internet website a publicly accessible database of the | |
19 | 19 | mailing address and electronic mail address provided by each | |
20 | 20 | governmental body under subsection (e) for receiving written | |
21 | 21 | requests for public information. | |
22 | 22 | Section 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a | |
23 | 23 | vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
