| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 573.021, Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (f) Subsection (b) of this section does not apply to a | |
| 14 | 14 | person transported under 573.001 to a hospital emergency department | |
| 15 | 15 | unless the person remains in custody of a peace officer at the | |
| 16 | 16 | facility or the facility is otherwise licensed to provide mental | |
| 17 | 17 | health services. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
