66 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
77 AN ACT
88 relating to the route designation for the issuance of a permit for
99 the movement of oversize and overweight vehicles that serve a
1010 deepwater seaport on the U.S.-Mexico Border.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 623.219(a), Transportation Code, is
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 (a) For a permit issued by a port authority located in a
1515 county that borders the United Mexican States, the commission
1616 shall, with the consent of the port authority, designate the most
1717 direct route [from]:
1818 (1) between the Gateway International Bridge or the
1919 Veterans International Bridge at Los Tomates to the entrance of the
2020 Port of Brownsville using State Highways 48 and 4 or United States
2121 Highways 77 and 83 or using United States Highway 77 and United
2222 States Highway 83, EastLoopCorridor,andStateHighway4;
2323 and
2424 (2) between the Free Trade International Bridge and
2525 [to]:
2626 (A) the entrance of the Port of Brownsville using
2727 Farm-to-Market Road 509, United States Highways 77 and 83,
2828 Farm-to-Market Road 511, State Highway 550, and East Loop (State
2929 Highway 32)
3030 SECTION 2. This bill is applicable only to the designated
3131 routes for the Port of Brownsville.
3232 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
