11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 61.059, Education Code, is amended by | |
13 | 13 | adding a subsection (t) to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (t) In addition to other funding authorized by this section, | |
15 | 15 | beginning in the 2026-27 biennium, the legislature shall | |
16 | 16 | appropriate funding to general academic teaching institutions | |
17 | 17 | using an allocation methodology that includes outcome measures to | |
18 | 18 | incentivize students' timely graduation. The total amount of | |
19 | 19 | performance-based funding authorized by this subsection shall | |
20 | 20 | constitute not less than 15 percent of the sum of the total amount | |
21 | 21 | of performance-based funding distributed to all eligible | |
22 | 22 | institutions and the total amount of other formula funding | |
23 | 23 | authorized by this section. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
