| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Article 2A.002(a), Code of Criminal Procedure, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (a) The following criminal investigators of the United |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | States are not peace officers but have the powers of arrest, search, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and seizure under the laws of this state as to felony offenses only: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) a special agent of the Federal Bureau of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Investigation; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (2) a special agent of the Secret Service; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (3) a special agent of United States Immigration and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Customs Enforcement; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (4) a special agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Firearms and Explosives; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (5) a special agent of the United States Drug |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Enforcement Administration; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (6) an inspector of the United States Postal |

| 58 | 58 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 59 | 59 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 60 | 60 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 61 | 61 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 62 | 62 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
